Hawkins engaged Passive Fire NZ to undertake passive fire protection works throughout the 18 level Connect Apartments project at 70 Anzac Ave, Auckland. Throughout the project Passive Fire NZ were excellent to deal with on all levels, both on and off site. Their workmanship exceeded expectations, with the Auckland Council inspectors often noting that Passive Fire NZ’s work was always excellent, and that if they saw their sticker they knew that they didn’t need to worry. The Auckland Council sign off process was also made easy with Passive Fire NZ’s ‘live’ digital floor plans, in which every penetration on the project was captured via pins, which contained before and
after images, as well as the date, time, and applicator of each penetration. The Passive Fire NZ Project Manager had a consistent presence on site, and was always proactive in foreseeing issues and raising these in a timely manner. Additionally, they ensured that appropriate resource was always allocated to the project, meaning deadlines were never missed. Health and safety was also a strong point, with weekly toolbox meetings and inspections being completed without any prompting, and always being armed with fit for purpose PPE, access equipment etc. On the back of their strong performance on the Connect Apartments project, Hawkins engaged Passive Fire NZ on the University of Auckland B401/B402 project, where they again produced a well managed and executed project on all levels. I have no hesitation in recommending Passive Fire NZ to other contractors, and am more than happy to discuss our positive experience further over the phone should you require.
