I have found Passive Fire Ltd staff to be helpful, tidy, communicative and have an understanding of the constraints that exist in health facilities. Passive Fire use a tagging system that is accessible to clients. A discussion will be required as to the expectations the client and contractor has regarding the information per tag and what is required from both parties to complete and sign off each tag.
Te Toka Tumai contracted Passive Fire New Zealand Ltd to join a team of three contractors on an approved panel for Passive fire remedial works within the Grafton Road complex in 2020. During this time, they have shown that they are more than capable in carrying out work in challenging day-to-day environments within a working Hospital ranging from plant rooms to Clinical areas. Where out-of-normal hours works are required this has been accommodated by their professional service team. I have no issues in recommending this company for use on your project.
Passive Fire NZ have attended as a passive fire protection subcontractor on a number of SMC commercial projects since 2016. The most recent being Highbrook Building 6 - a multi-storey office building development and the Plytech Auckland HQ. Highbrook Building 6 had a fairly complex curtain wall facade where fire separation was required between floors while maintaining a seismic gap from the slab, in addition to various floor and wall penetrations requiring fire resistant systems. The Passive Fire NZ solution for the curtain wall on this project was particularly helpful as it allowed other works to continue in areas, we had assumed would be on hold during the process shaving weeks off the construction programme and providing some cost saving. Passive Fire NZ have exceeded our expectations as a contractor and their team are professional and accommodating with day to day challenges that arise. Their communication and quality assurance are excellent and provided well ahead of PC ensuring a smooth sign off with consultants. SMC Construction would be happy to use Passive Fire NZ on any future projects and would not hesitate to recommend to others.
