Four Points Sheraton Hotel


The Four Points Sheraton is a 22 level office conversion and now a live hotel.


PFNZ came up with a most innovative solution for this conversion; we incorporated a system where multiple penetrations could pass through the firewall at a central location, saving time and money, thus enabling one solution throughout (on all penetrations).


Extensive pre planning by our team also allowed for penetrations through gib walls making it easier for the gib fixers to line the walls and not have to cut gib around thousands of penetrations.


A challenging site, particularly after the hotel went live before completion, meaning our workers had to display a professional and considerate work ethic, sometimes carrying materials 20 stories so as not to disturb guests.


PFNZ also worked exceptionally well with the other tradies; not only designing the passive fire side of things but assisting with the construction sequencing.


We can be accommodating of ‘live’ commercial sites, working around noise and access restrictions.

Lakeview Apartments at Summerset at Heritage Park


The Lakeview Apartments are a 7 level retirement village spread across 3 separate blocks.


Having previously worked with Olsen Fire and Risk on the successful Mt Eden prison job, we were referred to the building company for this job on a working retirement village, again having to be mindful of residents and causing little disruption.


PFNZ was involved at the pre planning and design stage which resulted in lower costs and sped up productivity.


Our involvement at the pre planning and design stage delivers exceptional cost and time efficiency for the client.

The International


The International is an apartment building of approximately 112 luxurious and contemporary apartments.


PFNZ joined the design team prior to construction working in with the services coordinators in designing how the services would run.


Our team advised and established what, where and why the penetrations were passing through the floor or wall. 90% of all systems were designed by PFNZ prior to commencement.


A smoothly run job for all stakeholders due to the extensive pre planning and design.

Quest Hotel – Highbrook


An extension to 62 existing serviced apartments including Studios, and One and Two Bedroom Apartments.


A corrective job where plumbers had fire stopped their own services. These were later found to be non compliant and PFNZ came in to fix.


We fix passive fire work found to be non compliant.

The Hilton Auckland – Level 8


Conversion of the top floor penthouse into 21 new guest rooms including the complete replacement of envelope and roof.


This unique job took place in a ‘live’ luxury hotel where PFNZ had to work around noise restrictions.
