11 May Excellence Through Certification
Committed to being the most certified fire protection company in Aotearoa.
Our vision is to be the industry leader in our field – to become NZ’s highest performing, most certified passive fire solutions company. We hold an impressive array of certifications which takes us far beyond the entry point to play this game, the most exceptional of which being the 3 ISO standards we’ve been certified in for the last 3 years; ISO 9001 Quality, ISO 45001 Health & Safety and ISO 14001 Environmental. The process for all of these certifications are rigorous but we never shy from that challenge. Only top marks will do for our prequalifications team…nerdy perhaps, but we know the details matter.A few weeks ago the Passive Fire NZ team renewed our Sitewise Prequalification for 2025/2026 – sustaining an impressive Gold Status with a perfect score of 100% for the 3rd year in a row. This Gold rating is also in part due to SiteWise recognising the meticulous annual audit process we conduct for our ISO certifications. SiteSafe, who run the SiteWise programme, recognise that the ISO 45001 certification is the Gold Standard of Health & Safety systems assessment, and so they acknowledge this with a Gold stamp of their own.
Certifications are commonplace in our industry, some are mandatory, some compulsory, but all are designed to keep people safe and you’ll find them everywhere.
Along with our SiteWise Gold and our ISO Certification, we are also rated 5 stars by 3rd Party certifiers, IMPAC Prequal and Totika. We are long time members of FPANZ (Fire Protection Association of NZ) and some of our senior team leaders hold LBP and/or IQP licenses which are both highly sought after individual qualifications. It’s important to note, at Passive Fire NZ we consider these certifications far more than just ticking a box… They’re a tool we use to really test and continually improve our internal systems, and to empower our team.
Being certified is about knowledge and applying that knowledge in the right way. By focusing on achieving certifications our expertise grows and with that, our collective confidence. To us it’s about more than just meeting compliance laws, it’s the confidence that we are walking the talk, and that the hard work our Admin and Audit teams and our Quality Assurance teams put in is being constantly reflected, and assessed, to see where we can continue to improve and grow.
These certifications also mean our clients can feel confident in our work and know that we are willing to be accountable to external assessment, because we know we put in the mahi to keep our systems strong, safe and compliant.
