Starting 2026 with Confidence and Momentum

A Confident Start to 2026 as Passive Fire NZ Reflects on Progress and Looks Ahead to a Decade in Business

Passive Fire NZ leadership and site teams entering 2026 with confidence and momentum.

After a well-earned break, the Passive Fire NZ team has been back on site this week feeling refreshed and ready for 2026! And, if we had to pick a word for the year ahead, it would be confidence.

Confidence matters in any sector, but especially in construction.

The past few years have tested everyone. Now, as we head into 2026, there’s a sense of steadier ground and renewed momentum across the industry and we’re leaning into that with focus and intent.

2026 is also a particularly important year for Passive Fire NZ. As we approach a decade in business later this year, it’s a timely moment to reflect on the journey so far and the foundations we’ve built.

We’re proud to still be here, doing work that matters, and even prouder of how we’ve grown. By backing good people, building strong systems, and holding ourselves to a high standard of quality and compliance.

That approach has helped us establish a strong leadership position in the fire protection space, with an expanding portfolio of projects including L’Oréal, Summerset and Voco-Hie. (Check out our brand new projects page to see more.)

As our GM Joe Pope has shared – “What excites me is that Passive Fire NZ has reached a point where strong processes, good people, and clear values create space for growth at every level”.

Founded by Awen Guttenbeil in 2016 with the goal of ensuring buildings across Aotearoa were passive fire certified to global standards, our focus remains clear – lift the standard of fire protection nationwide, one building at a time.

Looking ahead to the new year with confidence, momentum and plenty more to come!

Happy New Year everyone! From the Passive Fire NZ team. Let’s go 2026! 🔥
