Strategy Day at Warriors HQ

Inside our Strategy Day with Joe Parker

Passive Fire NZ team with Joseph Parker at GO Media Stadium during strategy day

What an unbelievable day!

When it comes to building a strong and strategic team it pays to bring in the big guns!Passive Fire NZ had a strategy day yesterday and we were lucky enough to be joined by NZ Warriors CEO Cameron George and Joseph Parker – who was a surprise guest over lunch (he bought his prepacked lunch from his nutritionist though, so more choc-eclairs for us).

We do this annually, but this time, we thought we’d share some behind-the-scenes. Not everyone gets to host their off-site at GO-Media Stadium, so it was a pretty cool experience for the team and a great reminder of how important it is to spend time together “in real life” (IRL 😉 – working ‘on’ the business rather than ‘in’ it.

We’re lucky to have access to this venue, but we don’t hold the day here just for a lark. We come because of what it means to be here, to feel the performance driven culture that is literally palpable.

To play here, you need relentless discipline, a team-first mind-set and the courage to fight when it’s tough. To be a supporter here, you need unwavering loyalty, belief that defies the scoreboard and pride that runs deep.

Awen knows this all too well, he’s carried the same discipline, teamwork and grit that defined his NRL career into Passive Fire NZ,  it’s woven into our DNA.  So, spending time on our business here, definitely brings these philosophies to life.

We learned a lot from both our speakers, their messages really resonated with how we roll at PFNZ.

A couple of key outtakes:

Cameron George doesn’t complicate his method for success – it comes down to two words: Good People – build the right team, empower them and back it with consistent action, earned respect and honest feedback. From Joseph Parker: focus on what you can control, trust your team to do what they do best and assess where you can get stronger. We were treated to some epic stories too, from sparring at age 3 with his dad, to training alongside Tyson Fury – for a few more you’ll have to buy us a beer to hear!

Huge thanks to Cameron & Joe for their time & the inspiration – with their insights we’ve set some big goals, built the game plan and we’re backing ourselves to smash them.

Check out these snaps of the day…PS: We’re on a journey and we’re enjoying sharing our story – we’d love it if you’d follow along for the ride. Let’s roll!
